Features
Whitespace-only lines count as empty
A line with a few spaces, a tab or a no-break space looks empty but is not. By default such lines are removed too; turn the option off to remove only truly empty lines.
Keep paragraph spacing
Collapse runs of blank lines into a single blank line, so paragraphs stay separated while the double and triple gaps from copy and paste disappear.
Trim only the edges
Remove blank lines before the first and after the last line of text and leave the inside untouched – useful for code snippets and config files.
Line endings preserved
Windows (CRLF), Unix (LF) and classic Mac (CR) line endings are detected and written back unchanged, so a file does not show up as fully changed in version control.
Limits & privacy
Text and files can be up to 200 MB. Files above 8 MB stream through a background worker, line by line, so even a large export is cleaned without freezing the page; the first part of the result is shown as a preview and the full result is downloaded.
Whitespace means spaces, tabs, form feeds and the Unicode space characters (such as the no-break space) – anything that is not visible text.

FAQ
How do I remove blank lines from text?
Paste the text into the input. With the default "All empty lines" setting every blank line disappears from the result immediately.
How do I keep one empty line between paragraphs?
Choose "Keep one between paragraphs". Two or more blank lines in a row become one, and blank lines at the very start and end are removed.
Why are some empty-looking lines not removed?
If "Lines with only spaces count as empty" is off, a line that contains a space or a tab is kept. Turn the option on to remove those lines as well.
Will the remaining lines be changed?
No. Lines with text are copied exactly, including their indentation and trailing spaces. To trim those, use Remove Extra Spaces.
Can I remove empty lines from a large log or CSV file?
Yes. Files above 8 MB are not loaded into the editor; they are read in chunks by a background worker and the result is offered as a download.
Is this the same as removing line breaks?
No. This tool removes lines that have no text. To join lines into one paragraph, use Remove Line Breaks.
