How it works

  1. Paste the text

    Paste notes, an e-mail or a .txt file. The sample is a set of meeting notes with a list and links.

  2. Choose the markup

    Paragraphs with <br>, joined lines, only <br> or a <pre> block; links, lists, a full page and ASCII-only output are options.

  3. Copy or download

    Check the HTML and the sandboxed preview, then copy the code or download an .html file.

Features

  • Escaped correctly

    <, >, &, " and ' are written as entities, so text like "if a < b" or "Tom & Jerry" displays as written and cannot inject markup.

  • Paragraphs and line breaks

    Blank lines start a new <p>; single line breaks become <br>, or are joined with a space for flowing text.

  • Links found automatically

    http(s) and www. addresses and e-mail addresses become <a> links; trailing punctuation stays outside the link. Opening in a new tab is optional.

  • Lists detected

    Blocks of lines starting with "- ", "* " or "1. " become <ul> or <ol> lists, keeping the start number.

  • Clean markup

    No inline styles, classes, divs or spans – just p, br, ul, ol, li, a and pre. A full page adds only doctype, charset, viewport and title.

Limits & privacy

Text up to 20 MB; inputs over 256 KB are converted in a background worker, and very long lines wrap in the preview. Nothing is uploaded. See the privacy page.

How do I convert text to HTML?

Paste the text and copy the HTML on the right, or download it. Paragraphs, line breaks and links are created automatically.

How are special characters handled?

They are escaped: < becomes &lt;, & becomes &amp;, quotes become &quot; and &#39;. Optionally every non-ASCII character becomes a numeric entity.

Can I get a complete HTML file?

Turn on Full HTML page and set a title. The download is a valid HTML5 document with UTF-8 charset.

Is the preview safe?

The preview is sanitized again and shown in a sandboxed frame without scripts, so even pasted markup cannot run.

Does it convert Markdown?

No, Markdown marks stay as text. For Markdown use the Markdown Viewer, which renders and exports HTML.

How do I keep the exact spacing?

Choose Keep as <pre>. Spaces and line breaks are kept exactly, in a monospace block.
