How it works
Paste Markdown
Paste a report or notes, open a .md file or try the sample.
Set up the document
Font, size, A4 or Letter, first H1 as title, table of contents, embedding images from URLs.
Download the DOCX
Check the preview and download; the file opens in Word, LibreOffice, Google Docs and Pages.
Features
Real Word styles
Headings use Heading 1–6 (navigation pane and table of contents work), quotes use Quote, code a monospace Code style.
Lists and tables
Numbered and bulleted lists use Word numbering with nesting and start numbers; tables get a header row that repeats on every page.
Footnotes and links
Markdown footnotes become Word footnotes, links are clickable, #anchors jump to headings.
Images embedded
PNG, JPEG, GIF and BMP from data: URIs are embedded; images from https URLs too when you allow downloading them.
Limits & privacy
Files up to 10 MB. Nothing is uploaded: the conversion runs in your browser, and Open from URL fetches the file directly from the address you enter. See the privacy page.
The DOCX is generated in a Web Worker by our own Office Open XML writer, so no document content leaves your device. SVG and WebP images and raw HTML are not converted; a warning lists them.
FAQ
How do I convert MD to DOCX?
Paste the Markdown or open the .md file and press Download .DOCX. The document is built in your browser.
Can I edit the document in Word?
Yes. It uses normal Word styles, so you can change fonts and spacing for the whole document in the Styles pane.
Why are my images missing?
Images from URLs are downloaded only if you turn that option on, and only when the server allows it (CORS). Relative paths cannot be resolved.
Are formulas converted to Word equations?
No, math is kept as TeX text in Cambria Math. Word equation objects are not created.
Does it work with Google Docs?
Yes. Upload the .docx to Google Drive and open it with Google Docs.
Is there a size limit?
Markdown files up to 10 MB; images up to 10 MB each.
