Features
Emoji-safe reversing
Text is reversed by grapheme cluster, not by code unit. A family emoji 👨👩👧👦, a flag 🇩🇪 or a skin-tone emoji stays one symbol, and an é typed as e plus an accent keeps its accent. Naive reversing turns these into broken characters.
Six modes
Reverse the whole text, every line separately, the word order in each line, the letters inside each word, or the order of lines; or flip text upside down (ʇxǝʇ).
Complex scripts
Devanagari, Thai and other scripts with combining marks are reversed by whole syllable clusters, so vowel signs stay with their consonants.
Line order for logs
Reverse line order to read a log or a CSV export newest-first without changing the lines.
Limits & privacy
Text and files can be up to 200 MB. “Whole text”, “Upside down” and “Line order” need the complete text in memory; the other modes work line by line. Files above 8 MB are reversed in a background worker.
Reversing does not make right-to-left text read left-to-right: Arabic and Hebrew are stored in logical order and displayed by the browser, so reversed Arabic shows the letters in reverse logical order.

How do I write text backwards?
Paste the text with "Whole text" selected. The last character comes first and the first comes last, across all lines.
Why do emoji break in other reverse text tools?
Many emoji are several code points joined together, and a flag is two letters. Tools that reverse code points separate them; this tool keeps each visible character together.
How do I reverse the order of words in a sentence?
Choose Word order. "one two three" becomes "three two one"; spacing between words is kept and each line is handled separately.
How do I reverse a list?
Choose Line order: the last line becomes the first. The lines themselves are not changed.
What is upside-down text?
Letters replaced by similar-looking Unicode characters that appear rotated, written in reverse order, so the text reads correctly when turned upside down. Characters without a rotated look-alike stay unchanged.
