Metadata (EXIF)

No EXIF at all: no location, date, camera, lens or serial numbers. XMP is never copied.

Files never leave your browserHow?

This HEIC metadata remover deletes the GPS location and other EXIF data from iPhone photos and saves clean JPG, PNG or WebP copies – in your browser, without uploading the photos.

How it works

  1. Choose photos

Pick HEIC photos; each card shows what it contains – Location, Camera, Date, XMP.

  2. Choose what to remove

Remove all is preset. Remove location keeps the date and camera; Keep all copies everything.

  3. Save clean copies

Convert and save the clean photos one by one, as a ZIP or to your photo library through Share.

Features

  • See before you remove

Every photo is checked for GPS position, camera and lens, date taken and XMP data before anything is saved.

  • Three levels

Remove all metadata, remove only the location, or keep everything – the same choice for the whole batch.

  • Really gone

Removed GPS data is erased from the EXIF bytes, not just hidden. XMP and maker data are never copied when you remove all.

  • Batch and private

Up to 200 photos at once, processed on your device. A metadata remover that uploads your photos would defeat its purpose.

Limits & privacy

Photos up to 64 MB each, up to 200 photos per batch; images over 100 megapixels (50 megapixels on phones) are refused. Orientation is applied to the pixels, so the output needs no rotation tag. The colour profile is not personal data: with Keep the original profile it is embedded, otherwise colours are converted to sRGB.

Decoding needs the HEVC decoder of your system (Chrome or Edge on Windows 10/11 and macOS, Safari 17+, Chrome on most Android phones). See the privacy page.

FAQ

Does a photo from my iPhone contain my location?

Yes, if Location Services are on for the Camera. The exact GPS position is stored in the EXIF data and travels with the file when you send it as a file or document.

What exactly is removed?

With Remove all: GPS position, date and time, camera and lens model, exposure settings, software, serial numbers and XMP. The output has only the image and, if you choose, its colour profile.

Is the result still a HEIC file?

No. Browsers cannot write HEIC, so the clean copy is a JPG, PNG or WebP. Choose PNG for no further quality loss.

Do social networks remove location anyway?

Most big platforms strip GPS from published images, but messengers, e-mail, cloud links and marketplaces often keep the original file with all metadata.

How do I stop my iPhone from saving the location?

Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Camera → Never. When sharing from Photos you can also tap Options and turn off Location for that share.

Is it safe to use an online metadata remover?

Only if it does not upload the photos. Here they are processed in your browser and never sent anywhere.
