Checking whether this browser can decode HEIC…
Or drop HEIC files or a folder here. Up to 200 photos; nothing is uploaded.
SettingsPNG · no GPS
This HEIC to PNG converter turns HEIC photos into lossless PNG images in your browser, with transparency kept when the HEIC has an alpha channel. Your photos are not uploaded anywhere.

How it works
Choose photos
Tap Choose photos or drop HEIC files and folders. Up to 200 photos per batch.
Adjust if needed
PNG is preset. In Settings you can limit the size, decide what happens to EXIF metadata and add the date taken to file names.
Save the PNG files
Convert, then download one PNG, a ZIP with all of them, or share them to your photo library.
Features
Lossless output
PNG stores every decoded pixel without new compression artefacts – a good choice for editing, screenshots and graphics.
Transparency
HEIC images with an alpha plane (for example cut-outs) become PNG files with a transparent background.
Metadata under your control
EXIF is written into the PNG eXIf chunk. GPS is removed by default; keep everything or nothing instead.
Smaller copies on demand
PNG files of 12 MP photos are large. Set a maximum size such as 2048 px to get lighter files, or use JPG or WebP.
Limits & privacy
One photo can be up to 64 MB; a batch holds up to 200 photos. Images over 100 megapixels (50 megapixels on phones) are refused before decoding. Very large PNG batches need a lot of memory: on phones, convert in smaller groups or set a maximum size.
Decoding needs the HEVC decoder of your system (Chrome or Edge on Windows 10/11 and macOS, Safari 17+, Chrome on most Android phones); Firefox usually cannot decode HEIC, and the page says so as soon as it opens. Photos are processed only on your device – see the privacy page.
FAQ
Should I convert HEIC to PNG or JPG?
PNG keeps quality without loss and supports transparency, but files are 5–10 times larger than JPG. For sharing photos, JPG is usually better; for editing, PNG.
Why is the PNG so much bigger than the HEIC?
HEIC compresses photos very efficiently, while PNG is lossless. A 2 MB iPhone HEIC can become a 15–25 MB PNG. Reduce the maximum size in Settings if that is too much.
Is my photo uploaded to convert HEIC to PNG?
No. The conversion runs in your browser with your system’s HEVC decoder and the browser’s PNG encoder. Nothing is sent to a server.
Does the PNG keep the date and camera information?
Yes, by default the EXIF date and camera are kept and only the GPS position is removed. Choose Remove all for a clean file.
Why does my browser say it cannot decode HEIC?
HEIC uses the HEVC codec. Firefox and some Linux setups have no HEVC decoder for web pages. Use Chrome or Edge on Windows or macOS, Safari, or Chrome on Android.
Can I convert HEIC with transparency to PNG?
Yes. If the HEIC file contains an alpha image, the PNG gets the same transparency. Regular camera photos have no transparency.
