LocalBusiness markup for Google Search and Maps

This local business schema generator writes LocalBusiness JSON-LD for a shop, restaurant, clinic or service area business. Pick the closest subtype, enter address, coordinates and opening hours, and copy the validated script block.

How it works

  1. Choose the business type

From Restaurant, Dentist, HairSalon, AutoRepair, Plumber or Hotel to plain LocalBusiness – the most specific type that fits.

  2. Address, map and hours

Street address, city, postal code and country; latitude and longitude; one row of opening hours per group of days, or open 24/7.

  3. Copy and check

Name and address are required by Google; the Check tab lists the recommended details you have not filled in yet.

Features

  • 50 subtypes

Food places, shops, health and beauty, trades, legal and financial services, lodging and more; restaurant types unlock cuisine, menu and reservations.

  • Opening hours by day

Tick the days that share the same hours, set opens and closes, add more rows for other days. Late closing such as 00:30 works; 24/7 writes all seven days from 00:00 to 23:59.

  • Geo coordinates

Latitude and longitude as numbers with five or more decimals, plus an optional map link.

  • No self-serving stars

There are deliberately no rating fields: Google does not show review stars for businesses that publish reviews about themselves, and the validator warns if you add them.

Limits & privacy

Imported JSON-LD or HTML can be up to 1 MB. Only the subtypes in the list are offered; any other schema.org subtype can be typed into imported JSON and is kept as LocalBusiness.

The generator writes what you enter; it does not look up addresses or check that coordinates match the address. Price range is free text up to 100 characters (for example $$ or 10–25 EUR).

Validation uses the schema.org vocabulary (© schema.org sponsors, CC BY-SA 3.0, see licenses). Your data stays in the browser – see the privacy page.

FAQ

Which properties does Google require for a local business?

name and address. Recommended are geo coordinates, opening hours, telephone, url, price range and images; restaurants also servesCuisine and menu.

How do I mark up opening hours that pass midnight?

Use the real closing time, for example opens 18:00 and closes 02:00 on Friday. Google reads a closing time earlier than the opening time as the next day.

What about seasonal or holiday hours?

Add an OpeningHoursSpecification with validFrom and validThrough dates. The form covers regular weekly hours; edit the JSON for special periods.

Should every branch have its own markup?

Yes. Put each location on its own page with its own address, phone and hours.

Does this replace a Google Business Profile?

No. The Business Profile is still the main source for Maps. Structured data on your site supports it with consistent details.

Where do I find the coordinates?

In most map services, right-click the location and copy the latitude and longitude; use at least five decimal places.
