Empty cells
This converter turns a GitHub Flavored Markdown table into JSON – by default an array of objects whose keys are the header cells. Paste the table and copy the JSON.

How it works
Paste the table
Paste a Markdown table or a document with tables, drop a .md file or load one from a URL, then pick the table if there are several.
Choose the JSON shape
Array of objects, array of arrays with the header first, an object keyed by a column, or JSON Lines; turn number detection on or off.
Copy the JSON
Copy the JSON, download it as a .json file or open it in the JSON Viewer.
Features
Typed values
Numbers become numbers and true, false and null become JSON literals; codes such as 007 and phone numbers such as +44 20 keep their text.
Shapes for every use
Objects for code and fixtures, arrays for compact data, keyed objects for lookups by ID, JSON Lines for streaming tools.
Clean keys
Header cells become keys without their Markdown; duplicate or empty headers are renamed (name_2, column_3) so no value is lost.
Nested output
Headers like user.name can become nested objects ({"user": {"name": …}}) with Nest dotted columns.
Limits & privacy
Markdown files can be up to 20 MB. Files above 5 MB are converted from the file without loading them into the editor.
Turning documentation into data is the main use: a table of feature flags, error codes, test cases or translations kept in a README becomes a JSON file for code, without retyping. Only GFM pipe tables are read, one table at a time; tables in code blocks are ignored. Alignment colons carry no meaning in JSON and are not exported.

FAQ
How do I convert a Markdown table to JSON?
Paste the table; the JSON array appears on the right. Copy it or download it.
How are empty cells written?
As empty strings by default. Choose null, or leave the key out of the object, in Empty cells.
Can I keep everything as strings?
Yes. Turn off Detect numbers and true/false and every value stays a string, exactly as written in the table.
What happens to bold text and links in cells?
They become plain text by default: **Aurora** gives "Aurora". Choose Keep Markdown source to keep the marks.
How do I get an object keyed by ID?
Choose the shape Object keyed by a column and select the ID column; each row becomes a property named by its ID.
Is the data sent anywhere?
No. Parsing and conversion run in your browser only.
